The Tex-Mex restaurant was at 1310 Route 73 in Mount Laurel. The company did not say why the restaurant was closed.

“After great consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our Mt. Laurel, NJ location effective January 2, 2024. We want to thank all of our wonderful guests and team members for supporting us over this past year. We have enjoyed the opportunity to serve the community and hope to see you again in our Woodbridge, NJ or Christiana, DE locations.” the company said on its website.

Jose Tejas restaurants in Fairfield, NJ, and Massachusetts remain open.

Jose Tejas rated 3.4 stars out of five with 73 reviews on Yelp.

Several reviewers praised the staff and said they overcompensated for mediocre food.

"If it wasn't for the service this wouldn't have hit 3 stars," a diner from Sea Bright wrote. "I am hoping it was an off day,"

A Manalapan resident said, "I am a long-time customer of the Woodbridge location. Unfortunately, this location just does not have the same vibe."

A third Yelper said: "I ordered the shrimp tacos and didn't like that the shrimp were fried. The French fries they served with it were also hard. The shrimp tacos overall were bland and didn't have much flavor. My fiancé had the chicken enchiladas and said they did not taste good, unfortunately. We will most likely not be back."
